Kid Sister and me!!
We are headed to my grandparents this week in Kentucky for Thanksgiving. I am so excited to see my extended family, because I only get to see them about once per year. My Memaw has been doing a little house cleaning in order for them to move in a new place soon. While cleaning, she found a sack full of my old toys. I had the brown haired Kid Sister and a red haired Cabbage Patch. I really, really hope my Kid Sister and Cabbage Patch Doll, Agatha that's the name on her adoption papers, are in the bag! Those were the good ol' days! What were some of your favorite toys?

A little bit of catching up...
The time has just flown by this week. I can't believe it's already Thursday. I am gearing up for finals at school and Brett is just working away!
Saturday night we got to celebrate our one year anniversary at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. We saw A Christmas Carol:The Musical. What a wonderful production! There were lots of set and costume changes and the show went on without a hit. I think it amazing the way it is all orchestrated...complete with a live orchestra! We also had dinner at one of our favorite little spots, Sommer's Place. It was a wonderful evening. Sunday afternoon I went to Babies 'R Us with my MIL. It was like baby wonderland! It was fun to look at all the baby items and get ideas for our registry. Monday was our official anniversary. We celebrated with lots of crab legs and cake. I wasn't sure how the cake would taste being in the freezer for a year, but it was delicious! Thank you Sugar Rush for making an awesome cake! Yesterday was my nine week mark. B and I decided to start taking pictures this week to fill out my Belly Book. So far, I have only had to hang up one pair of jeans. I haven't gained any weight, actually I've lost a few pounds, but I think my weight is just shifting!

PSI Bands
Psi Bands (pronounced "sigh") may be my life saver. I got rid of the migraine yesterday and was feeling pretty good until dinner time, sick once again! I got sick about 4:00 and thought it might have been a one time deal. B came home with my requested Little Caesar's breadsticks, but I got sick right after he came in the door :( He called one of our friends who has also been very sick with her pregnancy. She gave him lots of recommendations, so he left on a mission. He came back later with Saltines, oatmeal, lemon drops and PSI Bands. I probably looked all crazy at him when he tried to put them on me. The look kind of like a back in the day Swatch Watch. They are bands with a dial that use accupressure to control nausea. I did not think this little was going to do a thing for me...I was totally proven wrong. So far, these things have worked. I ate breakfast and have much more energy today. These also work for people who have motion sickness and for chemotherapy patients. I have the cool red striped ones and I have to wear one on each arm. I don't care how much of a dork I look like, if I can continue to feel good, I'll wear them for the next seven months. They are waterproof and can be worn for up to 48 hours at a time. Can you tell I'm excited? We have plans to go to dinner and to A Christmas Carol:The Musical at the Shakespeare Festival tonight and I want to go!! We have great, second row seats!

Migraine, Migraine go away!
After sharing the joyous news, I got sick as a dog! There is no such thing as morning sickness in my case...it's ALL day and night. Dr. G prescribed Ginger capsules and Vitamin B6 three times per day...no help! I couldn't keep a thing down on Wednesday. Yesterday at lunch, I finally felt better all except for this dang migraine. I have had it since Wednesday. I have suffered from many migraines, but usually a little ibuprofen, an ice pack and a dark room or nap do the trick. I can't take ibuprofen...only Tylenol...which is basically a waste. Tylenol has never helped any sort of headache for me. If this would pass, I think I would feel great. If you have any advice, I'd love to hear it! We have big plans for our anniversary on Saturday, I hope I feel good. I have been looking forward to this night for a while.

C Mack
My birthday was on Labor Day this year. We spent the weekend at my parents house. My grandparents were in town. I shared a birthday cake with my sister Becky, whose birthday is 08/23 and my niece, Jessi, whose birthday is 09/09. It was a great day! I remember my niece, Nicole saying, when you and Uncle Brett have a baby it's name should start with a "C", so you can be ABC Mack. She also said that she didn't want me to have a baby, because she wouldn't be my baby anymore.
C Mack is on the way! We found out two weeks ago that we are pregnant with our first child. C, which is for child as of now, is due on June 24th. We had a wonderful doctor's appointment! We didn't expect to have an ultrasound, but Dr. G sent us in for one. We saw C's heart beating away! What a joyous moment! It was truly amazing. We have pictures and as soon as I can get them scanned, I'll post them.
Nicole, my little namesake, if you happen to be reading this with Mom, don't worry...you'll always be my first baby!

Mealtime Makeover
About two months ago B called me early one morning while traveling for work and said, "Write this down...mealtimemakeover.com". Huh? I was confused. It was National Eat Dinner with Your Family Day. He was listening to Rick and Bubba and heard about this meal planning program. We joined later that week. It has made dinner and trips to the grocery store so pleasant. We pay $5.00 per month and receive a shopping list and recipes once per week. Right now, we are doing the points program for two. There are some really good recipes with the program. I love the fact that it incorporates all of the food groups. The program for two promises that our total bill will not be over $45.00 per week (that is for 5 dinners and sometimes dessert).
Every now and then, I still have to cook a little Southern Cuisine. As Paula (Deen that is) says, "Country cookin' makes you good lookin!". You just can't get that from a points system!!
If you'd like to check it out visit or mealtimemakeover.com or e-mealz.com.

The debate is on...
Yesterday B and I traveled to the Capital City. B participated in a debate with the Alabama Farmer's Federation. He and other members of the Young Farmer's debated on issues affecting agriculture today. We practiced his opening statement the night before and on the way to the debate. B did a lot of research for the debate, he even had a quote from Thomas Edison, "Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work". I sat in the back, so I wouldn't distract him. He did a wonderful job! When the scores were tallied, he was on top! So we're off to Mobile soon for another debate. If he wins that one, he goes to nationals in San Antonio in January! I am so glad that Brett joined Young Farmer's it has given him the opportunity to meet farmers from all types from the Heart of Dixie.

The wait is on...
Hopefully you have been out to the polls to cast your vote or have plans to do so this afternoon. As America waits to see what is in store for our future, I wanted to bring you one of my favorite all time moments from one of the best TV families ever. The Huxtables!! Watch Theo and Rudy get down.

Before you vote
Before you head to the polls tomorrow consider this bit of information from Focus on the Family. We picked up this bulletin at church a few weeks ago and I thought this was a great article. Here is an excerpt.
The question you maybe asking yourself while only you are facing your ballot is...
Q:Isn't the lesser of two evils still evil?
A: There will never be a perfect candidate; we're all sinners. Think of it this way; How much that is good will be protected by candidate A as opposed to candidate B?
B and I weren't thrilled by either candidate when they were nominated. Over the past few months, after hearing all the debates, our decision is perfectly clear. After hearing a candidate forget his religious beliefs and having to be corrected by a reporter, that's all it took. Hopefully you'll get out to vote tomorrow and make an educated choice for you, your family and your values.

No to Barack & Bright
Here is a short clip from the AUM Business Breakfast where Bobby Bright admits that he supports Barack Obama. If you don't recognize the voice asking the question, that is Eileen Jones from WSFA news. If you go to YouTube, you can see more of this event. He then tries to recover by saying he supports John McCain too. Is he a Democrat or a Republican? I don't think he knows, maybe he should have just stuck with Independent. He is now the mayor of Capital City, where I lived before moving to Small Town. Many great things have happened while he has been in office, but does that make up for the crazy tax increases and exploding crime rate? He seems to have that Barack mentality, meaning speaking to hearts of those he is addressing and then changing his views for the next crowd. Just think before you mark the ballot on Tuesday. What do we value in District 2? Is he the best person to represent what we hold dear? B thinks I shouldn't get political with the blog...but I have to stand up for those I Love!
